We are looking for a new CEO

Are you looking for a new challenge?

Ashfield Voluntary Action (AVA) is looking for a community driven, dynamic and forward-thinking individual to build on our strong foundations, whilst retaining the ethos of the charity. We are a progressive, flexible and trusted organisation with a reputation for being embedded in our community. Known for delivering tailored services in response to local need.

Ashfield is a proud community with an economy built on coal, engineering, leather and hosiery manufacturing. Whilst these industries are long gone, they have left an indelible mark of self-determination and reliance, as well as the challenge of economic growth and diversity. Our role is to support our community from the bottom-up. We:

  • Provide infrastructure support.
  • Signpost.
  • Deliver groups, services and activities to support health and wellbeing.
  • Advocate both for individuals and the community.
  • Act as a conduit to ensure the best possible outcomes locally.

Ashfield is not without its challenges. We see our role as pivotal. The progression of the voluntary sector as key partners at the table has been a gradual process which continues to evolve. We are working ever-closer with our statutory partners.

Collectively we are using the Government’s ‘Levelling-Up’ Programme, Discover Ashfield Partnership, Health and Wellbeing Strategies and other local initiatives as a template and driving force. There is still a way to go in developing this holistic and community driven solution for change, but we are making real progress.

We offer a varied and exciting role for the right person to lead the challenge and help AVA to continue to make a difference in our community. If you think you have the personality and the skills to help us to develop and grow our community support programmes; then give us a call, or make an appointment to come in to see us in action.

Information about the role is HERE, Person Specification is HERE and the Application Form is HERE.

Closing date for this role is the 10th October. Appointment to this role will be by application, CV's will not be accepted.
