New Activities in Hucknall!

Inspire has a range of new activities in Hucknall which are aimed at older people and people living with dementia or memory loss. See below for more information.

Get Healthier, Happier, Connected and Creative in Hucknall!

Healthier Happier Connected Creative is a wonderful programme which aims to combat loneliness whilst sparking memories and joy through community events and workshops.

There are three different activities taking place in Hucknall Library every month as part of this project: Songs & Scones, Mind & Movement, and Connect & Create.

These friendly group events are specifically designed to meet the needs of older people and people experiencing dementia or memory-loss, plus their families or carers, and will also welcome anyone at risk of social isolation and looking to meet new people.

Find out more and book your tickets at: Healthier Happier Connected Creative | Inspire - Culture, Learning, Libraries

Healthier Happier Connected Creative is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Songs & Scones

Who doesn’t love a cup of tea, a lovely scone and some social music-making? Songs & Scones brings people together to engage with live music and connect with others in their local community. Join us each month for toe-tapping tunes played live by wonderful musicians and bands thanks to Live Music Now. These events are particularly suitable for older people – including those living with dementia and friends, family and carers.

Mind & Movement

Looking for a fun, gentle way to stay active and social? Join Your Health Notts for brand new music and movement sessions at the library! Move to music – nothing too fast or fancy, just a friendly mix of light exercise to help with balance, strength and mobility. Afterwards, there’s time to relax with a cuppa, biscuits and a good chat. These events are particularly suitable for older people – including those living with dementia and friends, family and carers.

It’s never too late to try something new and share ideas in a friendly, supportive group! You don’t need to be fantastic at art to join in – these sessions are all about finding joy in the creative process and having fun. These hands-on workshops are particularly suitable for older people and their supporters who would benefit from experiencing creativity through all of their senses, in a relaxed group led by friendly professional artists for all abilities.
