Launch of Homeless Directory for Mansfield and Ashfield

NHS Mansfield and Ashfield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) have been working in partnership with Ashfield Voluntary Action (AVA) to launch a new Directory and Information Handbook as part of their strategy to support people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless in Mansfield and Ashfield.

Mansfield and Ashfield CCG supported the development of this Directory as part of their commitment towards people who are homeless in Mansfield and Ashfield.

The Directory was developed as a resource both for homeless people and those at risk of being homeless and also as a reference tool for those who support them. Mansfield and Ashfield CCG initially intended that the Directory be available through healthcare settings throughout the District and then recognised that the Directory could have a far wider impact if it was also available through a wide range of settings including Statutory Services and Voluntary Sector organisations.

The Directory provides wide-ranging and accessible information on services and aims to make it easier for homeless people and those who are at risk of homelessness to access the help they need. It is hoped that this will reduce the number of people becoming homeless by ensuring that they access services prior to eviction. The Directory and Information Handbook will also support people who are already homeless, signposting them to services which can help them back into housing and address issues which may have been a factor in them becoming homeless in the first place. Ultimately Mansfield and Ashfield CCG hopes that this Directory and Information Handbook will be a useful tool in reducing homlessness throughout the two Districts.

There is an electronic link to the Directory below, or hard copies may be requested from Sarah Taylor at Ashfield Voluntary Action on 01623 555 551.
