11 January 2022
Nottinghamshire Carers Association would like to invite unpaid carers to join them for the first meeting of “Carers Space Notts”. Carers Space Notts (CSN) is a brand-new initiative jointly designed by Nottinghamshire County Council, the NHS, Nottinghamshire Carers Association and unpaid carers themselves.
CSN is a strategy group designed to bring carers who care for someone living in the county of Nottinghamshire (not including Nottingham city at this time) and local professionals together so that they can mutually benefit from sharing their knowledge, insight and experiences. The aim is to provide carers with both the opportunity and the support needed to have an equal voice in decision making on policies and services which directly affect them. Their ultimate goal is to optimise the services and support available across Nottinghamshire, with carers being part of key decision making at all stages.
The first session will take place via Microsoft Teams (or Zoom) at 1:30pm – 3:00pm on the 27th of January 2022. Dan Godley, Senior Commissioning Officer in Adult Social Care and Health at Nottinghamshire County Council will be attending as our guest speaker, outlining the new approach to Carer Assessments being adopted in the County.
Nottinghamshire Carers Association would be delighted if any carers would like to come along to learn about the process and share their thoughts. Anyone who may like to attend can register their interest by EMAILING. Links and Information on how to join the session will be sent out in advance.
Further information is also available on Nottinghamshire Carers Association website which can be found HERE.
