Ashfield District Council offering drop-in sessions for people who don't speak English as their first language

 

Ashfield District Council is offering free support and sign posting drop-in sessions for people living in Ashfield.

 

Would you like to come along to sessions every Friday from 10am -12pm at the Magdalene Centre, St Mary’s Church, Church Ave, Sutton-in-Ashfield NG17 2EB

 

Our friendly team can help with:

 

  • Refugee and asylum seeker support and advice
  • training and job opportunities
  • conversation classes
  • housing and benefit advice
  • budgeting and debt advice
  • how to get low cost and free food
  • mental health and wellbeing
  • addictions
  • confidential advice and support for people experiencing any kind of abuse
  • connecting with the local community and support groups
  • befriending and mentoring.

Ashfield District Council is also offering English conversation sessions to help you:

 

  • Improve your English language skills to support you in your daily life
  • help you become part of your local community
  • help you to go into further education, training, or get employment.

 

The classes start on Friday 7 June 2024 • 1-3pm and every Friday after at the Magdalene Centre, St Mary’s Church, Church Ave, Sutton-in-Ashfield NG17 2EB.
