Community transport helps those with mobility issues, the elderly, and those who are vulnerable by providing door-to-door transport to services and activities in their area.
Our Centre is a registered charity providing community transport in Ashfield. They offer the following:
Minibus - ideally suited for groups of up to 16 passengers for day trips or attending group meetings and luncheon clubs etc. These vehicles can also be used by members for family occasions and are fitted with rear passenger lifts and side steps.
Ring and Ride - these are Our Centre’s own vehicles and resemble small minibuses. They are ideal for passengers that require wheelchair transportation and have tail lifts for easy access. Ideally suited for individuals or small groups of 7 or fewer.
Shopper Buses - the shopper bus is designed to serve the rural communities of Ashfield providing a pick up service (from Underwood, Jacksdale and Selston) for easy access to Kirkby and Sutton town centres. Our Centre also provides a door-to-door ASDA shopping bus on Fridays.
Wheelchair Hire - Our Centre offer the hire of equipment per day, or weekly for members. Delivery and Collection are available for an extra cost. From £5 per day. Office Hours: Monday -Thursday 08.30am- 4.00pm, Friday 08.30am - 3.00pm
Membership is a legal requirement for community transport schemes. Current annual membership is: £15 per year for individuals (1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026) and £30 per year for groups (1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026). Contact Our Centre's transport team who are responsible for membership registration, bookings and the daily running of the schemes.They are not a taxi scheme and bookings are required in advance, ideally at least 48hrs before your date of travel. They do not usually have vehicles available at short notice but, will try their best to assist for emergency GP and hospital appointments.
