In response to local interest, Ashfield Voluntary Action started looking at the support provided to people from the LGBT+ community and working to identify any gaps in the provision of services in Ashfield.
This began with an online survey and an in-person listening event which we held in September 2021. These both highlighted that people from the LGBT+ community in Ashfield often felt isolated and that they were keen for more social activities to be available in the local area.
From this, Ashfield Voluntary Action developed an LGBT+ Facebook page and held a run of weekly meetings in a local pub to start the ball rolling on possible future activities.
Currently, we are running a weekly drop-in café at the Ashfield Health & Well-being Centre every Monday from 1 pm to 3 pm. If you would like to know more or would like to get involved, please give Elliot a ring on 01623 555 551 or EMAIL. They are available on Monday and Tuesday from 9 am to 4 pm.
